1. The Short Version
This policy explains what happens to information when you play KNOT ("the game") on an iPhone or iPad. The game is published by Mastalos Games ("we"). If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected].
- The game has no accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location.
- Your progress is stored on your device and is not sent to us. We do not run servers for the game.
- The game shows ads through Google AdMob. Google's advertising software collects some information from your device in order to show and measure ads. You decide whether ads may be personalised.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
2. What the Game Stores on Your Device
The game keeps a save file on your device with your progress: scores, level, Sparks, the items you own, your settings, and a record of the purchases it has delivered. It also keeps a local log of gameplay events (for example that a run ended and with what score), which is used only on the device. None of this is transmitted to us. It is removed when you delete the game.
3. Advertising
Ads in the game are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. To deliver ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's software in the game collects information from your device, including:
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location (for example your country or city);
- device identifiers, such as the advertising identifier (IDFA) if you have allowed tracking, or identifiers that only work within this game;
- information about the ads you have seen and how you interacted with them, and about your use of the game, such as when it was opened;
- diagnostic and performance information, such as crash logs.
We do not receive this information in a form that identifies you. Google is responsible for how it uses the information it collects; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Your Choices About Ads
- Consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before any ad is loaded. You can refuse personalised ads and still play; you will then see ads that are not based on your profile. You can change your answer at any time in the game under Settings > Privacy Choices.
- Tracking on iOS. The game asks for permission to track through the system prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this in the Settings app of your device under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Rewarded ads. The ads that give you something in the game (a revive, extra Sparks) only play when you choose to watch them.
5. Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, card number or billing address. The game receives a confirmation and a transaction identifier from the App Store so that it can deliver what you bought, and keeps that record on your device. Purchases of items you keep (such as cosmetic packs) can be restored from Settings > Restore Purchases.
6. Game Center
If you are signed in to Apple's Game Center, the game submits your scores to its leaderboards under your Game Center profile. Game Center is operated by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, and you can turn it off in the Settings app of your device.
7. Children
The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict its use. Because the game does not send your data to us, the practical way to exercise these rights is on your device (deleting the game removes its data) and through the choices described above. For information held by Google or Apple, please use the links to their policies. You can always contact us at [email protected], and you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Changes to This Policy
If the game changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
