Nimbus: The Cloud Keeper • Last updated: 5 October 2026

1. The Short Version

Nimbus: The Cloud Keeper ("the Game") is made by Mastalos Games ("we", "us"). This page explains what data the Game uses and what choices you have.

  • The Game does not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and you do not need an account to play.
  • Your progress is saved on your device. We do not run servers that store it.
  • The Game shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To do that, Google's advertising software collects some data from your device, described in section 3.
  • You choose whether those ads may be personalised, and you can change your mind at any time (section 4).
  • If you choose to use Apple's Game Center (on iPhone and iPad) or Google Play Games (on Android) with the Game, the Game tells it which achievements you have earned and your leaderboard scores (section 6).
  • We do not sell your personal data.

2. Data That Stays on Your Device

Your progress (the days you have played, your village, your cats, your plant album, your settings and your language) is saved in a file on your device. It is not sent to us. If you have device backups turned on, Apple includes this file in your backup under its own terms; on Android, Google may include it in the backup of your Google account, under its own. "Reset progress" in the Game's Settings erases your progress, and deleting the Game from your device removes the file.

When you share a picture of your island or its animation, the Game creates the image on your device and hands it to the share sheet of your device (iOS or Android). The Game uploads nothing itself: the image goes only where you choose to send it.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The Game is free and is supported by ads. No ads are shown during your first three days of play. After that, you can choose to watch a rewarded ad in exchange for an in-game bonus, and a short ad may appear between two days of play.

Ads are delivered by Google AdMob. The Game contains Google's Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform, the software that shows the consent message. When ads are active, this software collects the following data from your device and sends it to Google:

  • General location: your IP address, used to estimate the country or region you are in. The Game never asks for your precise location.
  • Device identifiers: an identifier that belongs to this app on your device (on Android, to the apps of Mastalos Games on your device) and your device's advertising identifier. On iPhone and iPad that is the IDFA, and it is used only if you allow tracking (section 4). On Android it is the advertising ID, which you can reset or delete (section 4).
  • Advertising data: which ads were shown to you.
  • Interactions: that the app was opened, and whether you watched or tapped an ad.
  • Diagnostics: crash and performance information about the advertising software, such as launch time and energy use.

Google uses this data to show ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure how ads perform and to detect fraud. With your permission, Google and its advertising partners also use it to show you ads based on your interests. Google decides for itself how it processes this data. You can read how in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in the Google Privacy Policy.

We receive only summary reports from Google, such as how many ads were shown and what they earned. We cannot identify you from them.

With every ad it asks for, the Game tells Google to send only ads rated as suitable for all audiences.

4. Your Choices

  • Consent in Europe. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the Game asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. Until you agree, or if you decline, the ads you see are not based on your interests. You can change your answer at any time under Settings > Privacy choices in the Game.
  • Opting out in the United States. If you are in a US state whose privacy law lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal data, Settings > Privacy choices in the Game opens a form where you can tell Google not to sell or share your data for advertising.
  • Tracking permission on iOS. iOS asks whether you allow the Game to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • The advertising ID on Android. Android does not ask that question. Your phone has an advertising ID instead, which you can reset or delete in the phone's settings, usually under Settings > Privacy > Ads (the wording varies by phone). Once it is deleted, the ads in the Game can no longer use it.
  • Google's own controls. If you have a Google Account, you can manage ad personalisation at My Ad Center.

Declining does not remove ads from the Game. It changes whether they are personalised.

5. Purchases

Any purchase in the Game is made through the store of your device: Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad, using Apple's own purchase software (StoreKit), and Google Play on Android, using Google Play's own (Google Play Billing). The Game contains no purchase software from any other company. Apple or Google handles the payment; we never receive your card or billing details. The Game learns only which product you bought and, for the VIP subscription, until when it is paid. It keeps this with your progress on your device (section 2) and does not send it to us or to anyone else.

6. Game Center and Play Games

On iPhone and iPad, the Game does not contact Apple's Game Center until you press its Game Center button (under the achievements, or in Settings). From then on, while you are signed in to Game Center on your device, the Game tells Game Center which of its achievements you have earned and your numbers on its three leaderboards (stars collected, perfect days, longest combo). Apple shows them in Game Center under your Game Center name: to you and, depending on your Game Center settings, to your friends and to other players. Apple handles this under the Apple Privacy Policy.

The Game does not read your Game Center name, your friends or anything else about your Game Center account, and we receive nothing about you from Apple through it. If you never press the Game Center button, or are not signed in to Game Center, nothing is sent. The sign-in sheet you may see after pressing the button is Apple's own. You can sign out of Game Center, or choose who sees your profile, in the iOS Settings app under Game Center.

On Android, Google Play Games stands where Game Center does, and the same holds for it. The Game does not contact Play Games until you press its Play Games button. From then on, while you are signed in to Play Games on your device, the Game tells Play Games which of its achievements you have earned and your numbers on the same three leaderboards. Google shows them in Play Games under your Play Games name, to you and, depending on your Play Games settings, to other players, and handles this under the Google Privacy Policy. The Game does not read your Play Games name, your friends or anything else about your Play Games profile: it learns only whether somebody is signed in, and we receive nothing about you from Google through it. If you never press the Play Games button, or are not signed in to Play Games, nothing is sent. A sign-in screen you may see after pressing the button is Google's own. Once you have signed in that way, the Game connects to Play Games each time it starts; if you are no longer signed in to Play Games then, Google may show its own sign-in screen once, and after that the Game does not contact Play Games again until you press the button. You choose who sees your Play Games profile in the settings of Play Games.

7. Analytics and Crash Reports

We do not run our own analytics in the Game. If you have agreed in iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple gives us anonymous, aggregated statistics and crash reports through App Store Connect. If you have agreed on your Android phone to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google gives us the same kind of anonymous, aggregated statistics and crash reports through the Google Play Console.

The Game is built with the Unity engine. Unity's software inside the Game may send Unity Technologies technical diagnostics when the Game crashes or runs badly, such as the device model, the system version, the engine version and the crash report. Unity handles them under the Unity Privacy Policy.

8. Children

The Game is made for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, or under the age at which they can consent to data processing in their country. Where the law requires consent for personalised ads, it must come from a person who is old enough to give it, or from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will help.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in Europe or under the privacy laws of some US states, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to its use, to withdraw your consent and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we keep no personal data about players on our own systems, most of these rights are exercised through the choices in section 4 and through Google. If you write to us, we will help you with your request.

We do not sell your personal data. The advertising described in section 3 may count as "sharing" under some US state laws; the tracking permission and the choices in section 4 are how you opt out of it.

10. Where Data Is Kept, and for How Long

We keep no player data on our own servers. Your saved game stays on your device until you reset it or delete the Game. Data collected by Google is kept and processed according to Google's policies, which may include processing outside your country.

11. Changes to This Policy

When the Game changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example if we add accounts or new services, we will update this page and its date before the change reaches you.
